Standard Roman notation uses subtractive pairs such as IV, IX, XL, XC, CD, and CM. The converter rejects noncanonical repetitions and ordering.
Using the result
The conventional range stops at 3,999 because larger values require notation systems that are not consistently represented in plain text.
Important limitation
Roman numerals do not have a standard symbol for zero.
