Plan home projects with clearer material estimates
Start with the Square Footage Calculator when you need the area of a room or project surface. Then use a material-specific calculator for package sizes, waste, and purchase quantities. Indoor projects are covered by the Paint Calculator, Flooring Calculator, Tile Calculator, Drywall Calculator, and Insulation Calculator. Outdoor planning tools cover concrete, landscaping, fences, decks, roofs, and paving.
Measure first and account for waste
Measure each project area carefully, keep units consistent, and add a reasonable allowance when materials require cutting, matching, breakage, compaction, or spillage. A simple rectangular layout may need 5–10% extra, while angled or patterned work can require more. Calculator results are planning estimates rather than contractor quotes; confirm product coverage and project requirements before ordering.
