How it works
Most conversions multiply through a shared base unit. Temperature requires an offset as well as a scale, so Celsius, Fahrenheit, and Kelvin use dedicated formulas.

US and UK gallons are different sizes. This tool labels them separately to prevent an ambiguous conversion.
Important limitation
Keep enough decimal places during intermediate work, then round the final value to the precision your measurement supports.
